“What is the best way to learn a foreign language?” We asked our Advisor, Professor Reeves, OBE.
“Immersion!” He said without hesitation.
All programmes in Le Beaumont have been built on “fun” and “immersion”. Children love to join the playgroups in different languages, organized by graduate teachers who are native speakers in the language they teach.
Vocabulary and sentences are learnt in the context of interesting games, songs, and stories. They never get confused. |
“How to select the best teachers?” We asked our Advisor, Dr. Arthur Hinton.
“Children need emotional support in the challenging situation of learning a new language,” said Dr. Hinton.
“Look for candidates who have the right personal attribute, who love children and can relate to children. Qualification and training are important. But personality is even more important.”
Le Beaumont takes pride in building up a professional team of warm, caring, supportive and highly dedicated teachers.
Rapport between teachers and students is placed on the top of our agenda. |
“How to learn English well?” We asked our Advisor, Mr. Sam TS Chow,
“Start early, as early as from the 3 rd month. Learn from a native speaker. Make it fun. Join an Infants’ Playgroup.
“Less is More. At the infant stage, stick to a handful of songs and nursery rhymes, and some familiar games.”
“Playgroup is also good for children from 2 to 5 years. Playgroups are more interactive and more fun than formal English classes.”
“Learning French or Spanish helps to improve one’s English. It raises the sensitivity to languages. It also creates a comparative advantage for English. With comparison, English suddenly becomes so familiar and easily.” |
