"Scandinavia"
Language Program for Gifted Babies (For 3 to 30 months)
Apply early. Admission interview required.
'Scandinavia' is likely to be the most important project in language education in this part of the world. Your baby will be able to speak 6 key languages* in the world before going to school. (*English, Putonghua, French, Spanish, German and Japanese).
Le Beaumont Language Centre has been conducting research and development in early language development since 2004. Research findings all point to the early development of language capabilities. We pilot the Baby Phonics programme for babies 3 to 30 months olds since 2005. Evidence gathered in the preceeding 18 months has demonstrated beyond doubt that babies learn languages fast and easy.
The costs to the programme is insignificant relative to its benefits.
Book excerpts
“During the first year there are rather dramatic changes in how infants process speech sounds. The kinds of changes that occur appear to be specifically related to the kinds of input that infants are exposed to. Sensitivity declines for many distinctions that are not frequently found in the input. At the same time, infants appear to be absorbing information about regularly occurring features of sound patterns.
“ The Less-is-More Hypothesis (Newport 1990, Elman 1993)
This is the notion that having a restricted range of capacities and a smaller processing window might actually make it easier to pick up certain kinds of information in the input than would be the case at a later point when processing capacities have increased.”
- The Discovery of Spoken Language, by Peter W. Jusczyk, 1997 Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
